Two Organizations Receive Grants

Beneficiaries: 2014 Wine Trail

Two non-profit organizations were recent beneficiaries from proceeds raised during the 6th Annual Wine Trail event, presented by the Downtown Milford Business Association (DMBA). Throughout the years, thousands of dollars have been distributed to various local non-profit organizations. This year's recipients were the Milford Education Foundation and Milford's Promise – each receiving a $3,000 grant.

The event's success emanated from participation of the twelve Wine Trail businesses and paired restaurants, including: Chiropractic & Wellness Center (Scribner's); Duck Duck Goose (Brats on a Bun); MJKS Woodworking (Tabouli Grill); Ocean's Spray (Milford Green Pizza); Sophie Claire's (Eli's Tavern); Sweet Cupcasions; The Lovet Shop (Indigo by the water); Tranquility Mind & Body Wellness (Stonebridge); Ultimate Interiors (Bin 100); Villa Gourmet; Village Vogue Boutique (Villano's Restaurant); Whispers from Lady Olga (Scratch Baking). In addition, success was gleaned via the support of event sponsor Star 99.9, exclusive wine sponsor Wines and More, 242 Boston Post Road, and participation by the volunteers from each of the benefitting organizations.

The Downtown Milford Business Association is committed to giving back to the community in a meaningful way. Its vision and mission is to bring attention to the beautiful downtown with all its various and unique amenities including the second longest town Green in Connecticut, walking distance from the harbor, Lisman Landing, monuments, the Historical Society and Historic buildings, the Milford Fine Arts Center, and the tallest flagpole in the State!
